single parent dating How To Make Time for Single Parent Dating

For most people, single parent dating can be very frustrating. With most hours of the day devoted to raising the kids, one barely has time to schedule a date, much less find someone to date! Indeed, dating for a single parent is much more problematic. If you are a single parent dating, there are many things you can do to cultivate new relationships without compromising time for your family. Before you give up on romance for good, read the tips below.

1. Go online.

Sure, meeting people in a bar or coffeehouse is better, but you no longer have the luxury of time. The best part about single parent dating through the Internet is that you don’t have to spend time apart from the kids. You can spend a few minutes each day visiting dating sites or reading through online personals in the comfort of your own home! If you don’t want on line dating, you can just send an email to your friends and tell them you are looking. Going online has an added perk: privacy. You can turn on your PC after the kids are asleep, and set yourself up on dates via email.

2. Date in the morning.

Dating is often done at night, but a single parent dating usually spends evenings with the kids. What to do? Set the dates at an earlier time. Who said you can’t have breakfast or lunch with a potential mate? Dating in the morning is also more laid-back than when they are held at night. It is important to tell your date why you prefer a daytime get-together than evening rendezvous; if you don’t explain that that’s the only time you are free, he/she might think of something negative.

3. Go where your kids are.

There are a lot of opportunities to meet other people if you go with your kids to their activities. Soccer games and museum trips can be great for a single parent dating. If you see someone with no ring on the finger, why not approach him/her? It is most likely that there will be single parents wherever there are kids.

4. Date other single parents.

Single parent dating works well for those with the same situation. Who will understand you better than another single parent? Dating is much less stressful when the other person knows what you are going through. This doesn’t mean you can no longer date childless individuals. It just means that single parent dating is easier when you have like-minded people with you.
