When the marriage falters, it’s not only the husbands who seek love and attention from other women but the wives as well. However, the reason why married women cheat is different as to why married men do it. For married women, it’s not just about sex and ego or how boring the relationship is becoming. One of the differences between married men and women cheating is that when married men cheat, sex plays a bigger role whereas with married women it’s the emotions that’s at stake.

Many married women cheat out of revenge. When women get a hunch that her husband is sleeping with another, married women tend to think of doing the same with the thought that they do have the right to sleep around as well. Another reason why wives cheat on their spouses is when their husbands don’t give enough attention; be it mentally, physically or emotionally. When it feels like the relationship lacks romance that she craves, then she seeks and turns on other men for emotional support that her husband can’t give.

Moreover, women starts to look for another man when their security is threatened already. For married women, security and comfort at home is vital, so when a wife starts to feel that she’s not “safe” with her husband anymore, she finds someone with whom she will feel comfortable and secure with… someone who will listen to her and be affectionate with her.

Most importantly, married women cheat on their husbands because of men’s emotional withdrawal. Women are emotional beings so when husbands retreat from the relationship, women see it as a sign and try to move on by looking for someone who will give the same attention their spouses used to give them.

For a married couple, sex plays a big role and it’s either her husband is too focused on sex or there isn’t enough going on. When men stop making their wives feel that she’s being wanted, women tend to seek it elsewhere. On the other hand, if the husband is focused too much on the “action” and ignores the talking, cuddling and just “being together” part, women veer away from their spouses and look for other men who will make her feel “desired.”

Married men and women cheat for different reasons. While men needs healing on their libido, women need it in their hearts. This is because what hurts more isn’t about having too much or not having enough sex, but the emotional factors men give to their wives, which is very important for married women.
